Ceiling Insulation
For both new construction and already-built homes, we provide ceiling insulation.
Your ceiling allows for up to 33% of the heat loss in your house to escape. By keeping your house warm in the winter and cool in the summer, ceiling insulation is an excellent method to conserve energy and lower your power costs. We provide high-quality goods in various thicknesses (R-Values) to satisfy your specific needs.
With our roof insulation solutions, you and your house can benefit from:
- Condensation control
- A comfortable and healthy home, with a warmer home in winter and cooler home in summer
- A saving on energy costs
- Helping the environment through using products made through sustainable manufacturing processes
- Outstanding thermal performance by completely enclosing any openings and spaces to provide a barrier against heat gain or loss.
Under Floor Insulation
HC Insulation offers many different under floor insulation options ranging from a single layer polyester blanket to a triple layer polyester blanket.
A polyester underfloor blanket or friction fit segment is used, ranging in R-values from R1.5 – R2.8 for a single layer.
Wall Insulation
Different types of insulation materials are available for use in New Zealand. Contact us to see what will work best for you.
The Earthwool/glasswool insulation range of products segments and rolls, and can be used in both walls and ceilings applications. It is odourless, rot-proof, non-hygroscopic and will not encourage the growth of fungi, mould or bacteria. It does not contain impurities and comes with a 50-year warranty.
Pink Batts are made from up to 80% recycled glass and some of the products have Environmental Choice accreditation because of their high R-values. Pink Batts can be used in the ceiling, underfloor and wall cavities.
Mammoth Acoustic Insulation makes homes warmer and quieter; reducing noise transfer between rooms and providing thermal insulation to improve the energy efficiency of the space insulated. This type of insulation is recommended in music rooms, entertainment areas, laundries and bathrooms.
Terra Lana wool blend insulation gives superior performance with wool’s ability to ‘breathe’ making it a more efficient insulator.
Ground Moisture Barrier
Up to 60 litres of water can be absorbed through the floor of your house daily. Putting a Ground Moisture Barrier down can prevent this, keeping your house drier and healthier, also reducing condensation in homes. A Ground Moisture Barrier is a layer of plastic installed to prevent moisture being absorbed into the floor.
Gutter Cleaning
It is advised to get a gutter cleaned twice a year. By doing this, you can make sure that there isn’t any standing water in your gutters, which could lead to early gutter rust.
Maintaining the health of your home’s roof and gutters is crucial to preventing expensive repairs. Overflowing gutters can limit their lifespan and result in water damage.
Ventilation
HC Insulation Specialists also offer ventilation systems and products. Our systems are structured and specifically tailored for New Zealand buildings and the extreme climatic conditions that exist in our beautiful country. Buildings need to be able to “breathe” and have passive ventilation, eliminating the potential for internal moisture issues.
Passive ventilation is a method of allowing continuous airflow into a building above the thermal envelope, thereby eliminating internal moisture from the roof cavity, and preventing condensation and mould from forming.
